Description

This set includes seven Pure Bliss C5 singing bowls, each precisely tuned to a specific note in the fifth octave (C5, D5, E5, F5, G5, A5, B5), with a consistent diameter of approximately 11.0 cm (4.3 inches).

Composition

The C5 set is made from a seven-metal alloy, primarily bronze (copper and tin), with trace amounts of iron, lead, zinc, gold, and silver. The special ratio of copper and tin used ensures a clear, resonant tone with minimal vibration.

Bowl Making and Tuning Process

The tuning of each C5 bowl is achieved by adjusting its thickness until the bowl hits the perfect note. To allow this, our artisans initially beat the C5 bowl to a slightly thicker profile than needed. Once the bowl is crafted to this thicker profile, the artisan plays it to assess its pitch and starts scraping a very thin layer of metal little by little. This process is very delicate and should not be rushed, as the bowl can easily be damaged or even broken. After each scrape, the artisan rechecks the pitch and repeats this process until the bowl hits the required note. Once the bowl finally hits its perfect note, it is gently polished to give it its elegant final look.
